Rio Day 2 - Copacabana Beach

We spent our second morning in Rio at Copacabana Beach. Though the waves were less intense than at Ipanema, the water and beach were dirtier. We played a while, soaked up some sun, got good and sandy, and then headed back to our hotel to clean up before meeting friends that afternoon for touristy stuff.

The sidewalks along Rio's beaches are made of black and white mosaic tile. There are several different patterns throughout the city. This is Copacabana.

Our friend Sergio brought Luke a WHOLE SHEET of pirate tattoos for his birthday. Here's Luke showing off hi Jolly Roger flag tattoo. He now has a tan line from it! (Thanks, Mr. Martinez!)
